Research assistant positions- Protein Science/Structural Virology

　One or two Research Assistant Positions are sought in Prof. Zene Matsuda’s group in the Laboratory of Structural Virology and Immunology/ Key Laboratory of Protein and Peptide Drugs. Highly motivated candidates who hold a master or higher degree in the fields of protein science or virology are sought. His or her work will be related to the analyses of virus envelope-mediated membrane fusion and development of inhibitors of membrane fusion. The major target envelope proteins include those of HIV-1, Dengue virus, and MERS Corona virus.

　　The past experience in the related field (virology and protein science) is highly desirable. Prospective candidates are expected to have a working knowledge and expertise in protein engineering, purification, and structural analysis as well as basic virological methods. The appointment term is project-based and can be extended by the end of March 2018 after annual evaluation. Expected starting date will be May- June 2015. Successful candidates should be proficient in both written and spoken English as the communication in the lab is mainly done in English.
