Overseas High-level Talents Recruitment of Dongguan University of Technology

With a five-year 3.5 billion RMB investment plan co-funded by Guangdong Provincial Government and Dongguan Municipal Government, Dongguan University of Technology (DGUT) is to be built into a high level university of science and engineering, so as to provide talents, intelligence and technology for the innovation-driven development of Guangdong province and Dongguan city.

Since September 2015, DGUT has brought in the first batch of 51 high-level talents (groups) which includes jointly-employed CAS and CAE academicians, distinguished professors, “Changjiang Scholars” of the Ministry of Education, “1000 Talent Plan Scholars” the of Central Organization Department, etc. The school has also implemented 6 provincial key research platforms and initiated Guangdong Provincial Postgraduate Joint Cultivation Base (Dongguan) as well as Scientific Innovation Research Department. Along with the launching of major research projects of 11 disciplines, DGUT has built a series of colleges featuring specialty industry study and achieved major breakthrough in student enrollment. Currently, DGUT has established the first overseas center and overseas talent recruitment workstation.

I. Positions Available

1. Position A

a)Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine and economic science

b)Recipients of following awards: Highest Science and Technology Award of China, National Medal of Science Award of America, National Medal of Technology and Innovation of America, CNRS Gold Medal, Royal Medal of the UK, Copley Medal of the UK, A.M. Turing Award, Fields Medal, Wolf Prize in Mathematics, Abel Prize, Lasker Medical Research Awards, Crafoord Prize, Japan Prize, Kyoto Prize, Shaw Prize, etc.

c)Academicians of Science Academy and Engineering Academy in US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and other western developed countries. (please refer to http://www.bic.cas.cn for details)

d)(Former) Chairman or vice chairman of internationally renowned academic organizations (please refer to item 1 in the supplement explanation)

e)(Former) Technical committees of ISO

f)Principal Investigators or Scientists-in-Chief of major scientific and technological projects in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and other western developed countries.

g)(Former) Directors of national research institutes or national laboratories in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and other western developed countries.

h)Other talents with equivalent academic status or achievement.

2. Position B

a)Chief Editors of high-end scientific journals and periodicals (first or second quartile journals of JCR) in the latest 5 years

b)First authors or corresponding authors of prestigious scientific journals like Nature, Science, Cell or others journals (IF>30) in relevant disciplines in the recent 7 years.

c)Chief scientists or senior scientists of national research institutes or national laboratories in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and other western developed countries.

d)Fellows of famous international academic organizations (please refer to item 1 the supplementary explanation)

e)Scholars of national science fund for distinguished young scholars in the US, UK, Germany, France, Japan, Italy, Canada and other western developed countries in the recent 5 years.

f)International scholars of the "100 Talent Program" of CAS in the recent 5 years.

g)Experts of high-end foreign technology projects, and management personnel projects introduced by the nation in the recent 5 years.    

h)Other talents with equivalent academic status or achievement.

3. Position C (candidates are below the age of 50)

a)Professors of Internationally renowned universities (please refer to item 2 in supplement explanation)

b)Experts of regular foreign technology projects, and management personnel projects introduced by the nation in the recent 5 years.    

c)Other talents with equivalent academic status or achievement.

4. President-appointed Talents

The conditions, requirements, remuneration and tasks of the position will be the president’s independent decision of the university.

II.Remuneration

The salary of an introduced talent is based on annual salary system and all the income listed above is pretax and paid in RMB. The annual salary system is generally composed of basic annual salary and performance annual salary. The performance annual salary shall be calculated and paid based on the actual completion of the tasks stipulated in the contract.

1. Category A and President-appointed Talents: annual salary, house subsidy and research start-up funds are subject to individual negotiation.

2. Category B Talents: 1.3 million RMB for basic annual salary, 2.5 million RMB for purchasing house in Dongguan city and research start-up funds can be up to 50 million RMB.

3. Category C Talents: 0.6 million RMB for basic annual salary, 1 million RMB for purchasing house in Dongguan city and research start-up funds can be up to 20 million RMB.
