课题组及负责人简介：

林关宁，博士，上海交通大学特别研究员，上海高校特聘教授(东方学者)，生物医学工程学院博士生导师。长期从事研生物医学信息学在复杂型疾病的应用及临床大数据处理和分析。

课题组聚焦在以“计算+实验”的方式来提高对神经精神病和神经发育病症的理解、诊断、监测、和治疗。研究项目涉及计算方法学，生物医学大数据挖掘、 数据库/云平台搭建、疾病动物模型和临床诊疗标志物方面的研究。目标是开发神经系统和精神疾病，如自闭症、精神分裂症和强迫症等的有效疗法。已在Neuron，Nature Communication，American Journal of Human Genetics，Cell等国际高水平杂志已发表SCI论文。

Postdoctoral fellow in computational biology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), Shanghai, China

Job Description

A 2/3-year postdoctoral position in bioinformatics group of Dr. Guan Ning Lin at SJTU (bmi.sjtu.edu.cn) is open to applicants with solid computational biology/systems biology/bioinformatics/statistics/genetics backgrounds who are interested in applying their experience to study psychiatric disorders. The position is available immediately.

The focus of the project is to utilize heterogeneous high-throughput datasets (WES, WGS, RNA-Seq, proteomics) to discover druggable networks and pathways involved in the brain disorders.

Qualification

1.      Qualified candidates must have a PhD and a demonstrated strong ability in bioinformatics, systems biology, sequence analyses, network analyses or genetics including expertise in high-throughput data analyses, such as RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, CLIP-Seq, epigenomics, NGS, proteomics.

2.      Have Strong programming skills, such as Python, Java, R and Unix/Linux. The candidate should also be familiar with NGS algorithms and tools, such as Bowtie, cufflinks, BWA, STAR, RSEM, UCSC Genome Browser, samtools, bedtools, vcf-tools etc.

3.      Candidates with the knowledge of machine learning (deep learning, SVM and Bayesian inference) will be prioritized.

4.      Candidates have strong publication record (at least one first-author publication is required) will be prioritized.

5.      Excellent in English both in writing and speech.

6.      Qualified candidate should demonstrate the ability for independent and critical thinking, excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Terms of employment

1.      Successful applicants will be granted post-doctoral level welfare, basic annual salary RMB 210,000 (negotiable) with performance-based bonus.

2.      Successful applicants shall service a Full-time post-doctoral research contract for no less than 3 years. After 3 years on post-doctoral position, with outstanding scientific achievements and fulfilled requirements of the university, it is possible to submit a tenure-track position application for university assessment.

3.      Handle the settlement according to the post-doctoral management policy of Shanghai.
