Research Fellow in SZU

Position available:

1. 3 full time research fellow positions for 3 years in Shenzhen University.

Description:

1.      To participate in the research of the group and complete the assigned research tasks independently;

2.      To participate in the daily management of the research group and supervise post graduate students;

3.      To write and publish high-quality research papers;

4.      To develop new research projects in accordance to the group’s interest;

5.      To be with research background including but not limited to: various fields in civil

engineering, material engineering and other engineering related to research theme

described in 6. Interdisciplinary backgrounds are particularly encouraged.

6.      To conduct research in one of the following themes under the main theme

“Technology for Life Cycle Management (LCM) of Infrastructures”:

1.      (1)  Simulation of deterioration under combined effects by generic model and modeling of property of deteriorated concrete

2.      (2)  Development of design/exaction/maintenance method of standard intervention methods

3.      (3)  Development of new structural material and system

4.      (4)  Development of new and better intervention method

Conditions:

1.      Preferably under the age of 35, with PhD degree;

2.      Have good English reading and writing abilities for drafting English SCI journal

papers independently;

3.      Be able to work as a team with good communication, coordination, organization

skills;

4.      Solid professional knowledge and independent research capability;

5.      Published at least 4 SCI journal papers in top SCI journals.

Salaries and other welfares:

1.      A combined annual salary of approximately ¥380,000 to ¥680,000 RMB (gross income), with housing allowance and various types of insurance are provided by Shenzhen University. The exact amount varies according to the applicant’s research background and obtained results;

2.      Housing subsidies or accommodations are also provided by the university;

3.      During the contract, the associate research fellow can apply for research funding with

the support of the Faculty;

4.      Those who meet the requirements of the Guangdong Provincial Special Support

Program will be granted an additional subsidy of ¥500,000-1,200,000 RMB from

Guangdong Provincial government;

5.      Those who meet the requirements of Shenzhen High-level Overseas Talents will be

granted a total of housing allowance of ¥1,600,000 RMB during five years;

6.      Excellent associate research fellows can apply for assistant/associate professor

positions after the end of the contract;

7.      Research awards for publications in top journals and successful NSFC funding;

8.      During the contract, the fellow’s family can settle in Shenzhen. The children can be

enrolled in a school in accordance with the relevant regulations of Shenzhen.

2.      After first round selection, an interview will be arranged for short listed candidates. After the interview, applicants can visit the laboratory and learn about the research activities in the group;
