Huzhou University is a leading research-intensive university in Huzhou, a city with a long history and beautiful landscape in Zhejiang Province, China. Huzhou borders Shanghai to the east, Hangzhou to the south, Nanjing to the north. It is one of the coastal economic opening zones in the Yangtze River Delta. With high speed trains, one can reach Hangzhou, Shanghai and Nanjing within 1 to 2 hours, and Beijing within 4 and a half hours. 

The University consists of three campuses, namely East Campus, Middle Campus and West Campus, covering a land of over 106 hectares, with 520,000 square meters of school buildings and 320,000 square meters of green area. The campus boasts beautiful environment, reasonable layout, and enchanting scenery around the year. There are fourteen schools in the university, including the School of Business, the School of Management and Social Development, etc. and one independent college (Qiuzhen College). There are four affiliated hospitals, one affiliated secondary school, and two affiliated primary schools as well.

The University discipline covers 11 categories including economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management, and art. The University offers 53 undergraduate programs and 6 Master’s degree programs and has two national characteristic specialties and two national excellent courses. Now there are over 18,000 full-time students, including 146 graduate students and 552 international students.

Of the University’s full time teaching staff, 116 are professors, 243 are associate professors, and over 322 with doctorate degrees. There are a number of high-level talents in the faculty, including two academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, 1 professor awarded by the program of “National Excellent Teachers”, 1 recipient of “National Special Support Program for High-level Talents (known as “Ten thousand Talents Program”)”, 7 recipients of “National Recruitment Program of Global Experts (known as “Thousand Talents Program”), 2 professors awarded by the Program of Modern Agricultural Technology Scientists of Ministry of Agriculture, 3 recipients of “Zhejiang Provincial Recruitment Program of Global Experts, 2 professors awarded by the program of “Qianjiang Scholars” and 3 members awarded by Zhejiang Provincial Program of Young and Middle-aged Scholars with Outstanding Contributions .  

Inter-collegiate cooperation has been established between 30 colleges and universities from over 10 countries and regions of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, helping the implementation of training young and middle-aged teachers overseas and inter-collegiate student exchange programs.
